Many people are familiar with worker’s compensation for injuries that occur during work. At times, a person or company other than the employer may have caused an individual to be injured. We see this often on construction sites when one contractor or sub-contractor injures a worker from another company. The law allows for a separate action against the wrong doer. The injured can still use benefits from worker’s compensation insurance but seek additional damages from the wrong doer for pain & suffering, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life and loss of capacity to earn income in the future.
